Lagoon

Who doesn't remember the summer classic: Stake Lagoon Day?  I don't think many stakes have a SLD anymore, but luckily, Morgan County is a little slower to change than most.  And double lucky... my sister Beth and her cute kiddos were here visiting from North Dakota for a couple weeks at just the right time to join us for the fun.

Also, as long as we're on the subject of "luck"...  Luckily my boys happen to have a super cool Uncle Mark that will probably love thrill-riding till he dies.  So he joined us for the day too.

I didn't get many pics from the day, but I did take a few of the boys riding their favorite ride:  the SkyCoaster.  They also loved the Slingshot, but you can't really get pics of that since they are all enclosed while they ride that one.  Porter and Taylor felt pretty old and mature to be riding these awesome "grown-up" thrill rides.

And the boys turn...

Taylor, Porter, & Hunter getting all "suited up"

Getting the lift... too late to back out now!

And the drop...

 Loving every minute of it!

Just a few more years till Tate and Eric can ride!

Baby Rowan

Introducing, our newest little
cousin / nephew...

Rowan Ralph Wilkey

On June 12, Steve's sister Carin and her husband, Brandon, welcomed a beautiful little baby boy into their family.  His name is Rowan, and my boys were instantly smitten with this new little cousin.  We sure do love him.  Maybe I think he's so adorable because he looks just like MY babies!  I could easily pass this little guy off as one of mine.  I love it.

On the way home, my boys kept making comments like, "We need one more baby, mom..."  "He's so cute mom, I wish we had a baby..."

And I just smiled.

A couple of my favorite Batmans...

Having recently seen "Avengers," (yes we took our 5 year old to see "Avengers"...  & hopefully that isn't a parenting decision we'll regret someday)... anyhoo, Eric has been on a superheroes kick lately.  He asked me to call his friend Blake over to play and said, "And mom... tell him to make sure he brings his Batman stuff."  Obedient little Blake did just as instructed.  Love it!

This cape is a cousin hand-me-down which has been well-loved by my boys.  When Eric wears it to play, I can't help but think back about when my older boys were into playing superheroes...

Here is a classic pic of Bubba (a.k.a. Porter) wearing his Spiderman finest.  If you click on the picture to make it big, you can see he was actually trying to spin a web on me as I took the picture.

Here are Taylor, and his buddies (Cache and Brennan) ready to save the world...

Or this day, when Taylor was 3, and he played Batman the Cowboy ...with socks for his gloves.

So Classic!  It is probably one of the reasons I can sleep well at night, because we are so well protected at this house.

Sure do love my boys!
